The theme this year is 'A chance to change the world'. Children have been tasked to write their own 500 word story around this theme and we are very excited to see what they come up with! Children will be writing them in school however they will also be able to edit their stories at home if they wish. The closing date will be Thursday 2nd May.
The winner receives a family trip to Disneyland Paris and £500 pounds worth of books for the school!
We have fantastic writers at Bannockburn, so I am eager to see if we have a winner among us!
It is even judged by Alesha Dixon from Britain's Got Talent who has written a series of books about a character called 'Lightning Girl'. She even visits the school if a child from Bannockburn wins!
Next Tuesday, KS1 will have their launch assembly to learn all about this Nationwide writing competition.
