Checking out our teeth in Year 5 Maple Class

This first half of the Autumn Term, we are learning all about our teeth and our digestive system.

Last week, we learnt about the different teeth humans have and how these are different from non-human animals. How many teeth do you have? Most children have around 20 milk teeth - these are the teeth that fall out and are replaced by adult teeth. On the other hand, adults have 32 teeth unless they've had some removed.

There are different types of teeth in our mouths - we used mirrors to identify them.

We have:

- incisors

- canines

- premolars

- molars

Can you use a mirror and see if you can find the different types of teeth?

This week, we have been learning about how to keep our teeth clean and we are currently conducting an experiment into the damage caused by different types of drinks!

We will have the results next week so come back to check them out!
