Last week the children from Apple Class came to stay on the Manor Way.On the Friday the children came to school dressed up as pirates. They made additional props and learnt how to talk like a pirate, saying phrases, such as “Shiver me timbers” and “Ahoy, matey!” They gave directions to a pirate find the treasure chest.
As part of our ‘Pirate Day, the children took part in various pirate-themed games in the Forest School. The children had to work together to achieve a common goal which required co-operation and effective communication. The activities included a treasure hunt, looking for gold coins and working together to steal treasure for the Captain’s treasure chest. They played the island game, negotiating space, to fit inside the island (hoops).
