In our exciting English hook lesson, Year 4 pupils discovered that with just a simple pack of cards, they could create something truly magical — a floating card trick! The children amazed each other as their cards appeared to rise and hover in mid-air. Gasps, laughter and wide eyes filled the room as our classroom transformed into a stage of mystery and imagination. This magical moment was the perfect doorway into our new writing focus: portal stories. Just like their floating cards, our ideas are about to lift off and transport us into extraordinary new worlds!
