We began the day by learning all about earthquakes. We even prepared for an emergency with an earthquake drill which included learning first aid skills. Then would you believe it, an earthquake occurred!
All of Year 4 evacuated the building quickly, reaching safety with minutes to spare. We continued by learning about earthquake-proof buildings and practised designing and making our own, eventually testing them to see if they really were earthquake-proof - many of them weren't!
After this exciting morning we turned our attention to extreme weather and researched events, such as blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes and monsoons. We pretended to be weather reports and presented our findings to the class.
