Year 4 have been working hard on developing their writing skills this half term. We are focusing on using adverbial phrases to begin sentences in different ways and including subordinate clauses in our writing.
Reading the text, Shackleton’s Journey as our inspiration, we have written setting descriptions, telegrams, diary entries and letters in role. Today we wrote letters to Shackleton, in role of a member of the expedition crew, giving our for other against argument for leaving Elephant Island.
Did you know, twenty two members of Shackleton’s crew were left stranded for over a year on an island in the Southern Ocean? Luckily, they were rescued in the end!
