Year 5 have been having a brilliant time learning how to write detailed instructions.
First, we read examples of instructions and worked out which structural and language features were necessary to be able to reach the end goal. We then looked at ways in which we could add in further information, handy tips and fun facts to help the reader as well as entertain them.
Next, we made our clay dragon eyes, stopping regularly to note down parts of the process that would need specific details in the final instructions. Once the dragon eyes were made, dry and spray painted, we completed some fantastic pieces of writing!
