This term we have been learning about the structure and features of newspaper reports before choosing our own news story to write about. We had to think carefully about who we could include as a quote and how they would add detail the news story. To help with this, we did some role play for our shared story about an Ancient Maya artefact being stolen where the children had to take on the role of different characters.
The children were inspired by our class book Thief by Malorie Blackman and came up with the following ideas:
- Sports Cup Stolen
- Girl hit by car near the supermarket
- Missing girl - last seen on the moors
- Discovery of Ancient Maya artefacts
- Shackleton's crew missing
