In Science this term, Year 3 have been introduced to Newton Meters. They have learnt that a Newton Meter measures the ‘pull’ force and experimented with using one. Initially, they had to apply the correct amount of force to achieve the designated number on the scale, then, learnt about Isaac Newton and his discovery of gravity. Finally, they applied this learning to what they had already learnt about friction. They investigated which shoes had the best grip by recording how much pull force had to be applied to different shoes for them to move.
