Year 5 Aspen trip to Greenwich Park - Orienteering, Science and Geography!

On Thursday 19th September, Year 5 Aspen Tree enjoyed a cross-curricular trip to Greenwich Park. We began the day by combining the skills we have learnt in PE (orienteering) and Science (using a compass) to navigate our way to 3 different sites. We only had a map, a compass and 1 hour! 

Each group showed brilliant team work and successfully found their way round. We then visited the meridian line to support our learning in Geography. 

Next, we visited the large sundial by the playground to begin our Science investigation 'How accurate are sundials?' Unsurprisingly, some children fell asleep on the bus journey back!
