This last week in Year 4 we have been learning about angles and lines in our mathematics lessons. On Friday in Poplar Class, we learnt about the famous Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian and created some of our own art work based on his abstract art ideas.
Mondrian is well known for his abstract art that uses only horizontal and vertical lines. He also uses the three primary colours - red, yellow and blue, along with white and black - to create these amazing patterns.
Inspired by this, we drew our own Mondrian style pictures and coloured them to create similar style artwork.
Who ever knew maths and art could be combined?! What great fun!
