Year 3 - Which materials are waterproof?

Waterproof materials!

This week, Year 3 have been investigating which materials are waterproof and suitable for everyday use. Before we conducted our investigation, we made predictions about whether we thought each material would end up being waterproof or not.

To ensure that we carried out a fair test, we measured the amount of water for each container and all used the same materials to investigate with.

The materials we decided to investigate with were; cardboard, plastic bags and wooden lollipop sticks. During the investigation, we recorded our findings based on our observations. After seeing the results, we concluded that the plastic bag had proved to be the most waterproof material.
