Investigating Reflective Materials - in Year 3

In Year 3 we explored different materials that can help to keep us safe at night time. We used tin foil, cling film, a school jumper, a neon jacket, yellow paper, dark blue paper and wrapping paper. We then used the torch to shine as if it were a headlight.

Before we started our investigation, we made predictions and decided on which which material we believed to be the most reflective at night. We then used our reasoning skills to explain why we chose that material and what we need to do to keep this a fair test.

Following this, we made notes on the effectiveness of each material which we later added onto our findings sheet. Once we had completed this, we then evaluated the materials, choosing the most and least reflective and write a reason why it is the best to keep them safe.
