Congratulations to the Year 4 children who were invited to go to the Bistro today at lunchtime. The children were chosen due to their lovely table manners throughout the week.
This half term Year 5 are going swimming.
When they are not swimming, they are working on their breathing techniques and improving their stamina when running.
Some children find it hard to stop themselves from running as fast as they can, becoming tired and needing to stop. It takes a lot of discipline to control their speed, and they are learning that this enables them to extend the time and distance they are able to run for.
This week Cherry Class in Reception met the 'Evil Pea' from our new Talk for Writing Text 'Supertato'.
On Tuesday we heard a voice recording from 'Evil Pea' telling us he had taken some vegetables as his prisoners and the only way he would release them is if we thought of some questions to ask him. So after hearing this Cherry Class worked hard together to think of some questions to ask the Evil Pea but he escaped before we could ask him.
So after school, Miss Brownless searched high and low and she finally found him hiding under her chair. So, she tied him up and on Wednesday Cherry Tree had the opportunity to ask him the questions.
On Thursday and Friday we started making our own papier- mache 'Evil Peas'.
Here are some photos of the children asking the 'Evil Pea' questions and making their own 'Evil Peas'.
On Wednesday this week, we held a Pirate Day in Nursery. We all had the opportunity to dress up as pirates and learnt about the things that they might have said. Among other activities, we learnt a range of pirate themed songs and matched actions to those phrases in a listening game.
Look at how much fun we had!
Nineteen children took part - all of which represented Bannockburn by showing our School Values of Determination, Perseverance and Courage.
Well done!

Don't Sweat the Tall Stuff!
Last term, a group of children chosen from Years 3 and 4 attended a very exciting rock climbing experience!
The children traveled via bus to The Reach in Woolwich where they spent 2 hours climbing a variety of walls. All of the children (and teachers) that attended had a fantastic time and enjoyed the experience.
Below, you can see some images of the day.
