This half term, Year 3 have been learning about the uses of shadufs in ancient Egyptian civilisation. We have spent time planning how we should create our own model of a shaduf and choosing appropriate materials that we could collect. We considered both the aesthetics and functionality of our designs as we planned to ensure that they were fit for purpose. We then created our shadufs with a partner using doweling sticks, pots, blue tack and string. Following our evaluation, we spent time exploring how we could improve our shadufs by strengthening them in different ways.
