Jean Petit is dancing with Year 3

To link to their Science topic of The Human Body this term, Year 3 have been learning the body parts in French. As well as all the usual fun language lessons with Madame Seaton, in their Singing Assemblies they have been learning a French song called, "Jean Petit qui danse", which is a famous French folk song with African musical influences. The song is about a monk who uses all this body parts in his dancing, and it has proved to be very, very, VERY catchy, among pupils and teachers!

You too can sing along with the song by using the video here.

Some quotes from Year 3 children about their singing:

"I love this song, it's so funny!"

"It helps me learn the body parts because we repeat it lots and lots."

"Even though it's hard to sing the really fast bits, it's fun to try and we can show Humour with our friends."

"Mrs Seaton makes us laugh with her funny dancing."

And one from the teachers!

"Mrs Oliver loves dancing with her shoulders to the épaules section."
