KS2 Sports Days #sportsday #pe

Over the last two weeks, Bannockburn have been taking part in their annual Sports Day! Sports Day was a little different this year but we still managed to make it memorable.

Each KS2 class competed in 8 activities in the hope of winning house points for their house teams. There were also special certificates for children who showed best effort, best technique and best team spirit, meaning all children had the opportunity to showcase their talents!

The pupils had a great time putting their skills into practice! We had some great efforts on the tug of war, some exceptionally speedy racers and lots of tins knocked down in the tin can alley!

“Sports Day was great fun. I really enjoyed it!” - Year 6 child.

“I had a fun day. The Tin Can Alley was good as I knocked over 9 cans in one hit!” - Year 5 child.

“Egg and spoon was so fun! I dropped my egg lots of times but kept trying.” - Year 4 child.

“I loved the range of activities this year. I really liked the tug of war because I had never done it before.” - Year 3 child.

Children also took part in the Mascot Competition. They had to create a school mascot to be used in PE and sport. We have had some incredible entries so far and the winner will be announced next week so stay tuned!

Well done to everyone who took part in the events or in the Mascot Competition! It was great to see how supportive and encouraging every was!

Next week, we have an Olympian coming to visit to talk to the children about her achievements. This is a very exciting opportunity for our pupils to meet an Olympian and ask any questions they may have!
