Year 3 English: Onomatopoeias in the Forest School

For our hook day we went into the Forest School and made shelters to represent a tent. In our model text, the two characters are in a tent and hear lots of noise and sounds but do not know where these sounds are coming from. This increases the suspense and  tension and is a technique we are learning in our writing lessons.

We pretended to be in a tent and wrote down all the sound words and onomatopoeias that we could hear. We then went back to class and recorded them on our working wall so that we can use them in our writing.
