As a reward trip, 30 children from Year 4 were taken to the Apple Store in Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford.
We took part in a coding workshop where we used apps called 'Swift' and 'Sphero Edu' to programme bits/robots to move and obey our commands.
The Apple technicians, George and Matt, modelled how to use each of these and we were then able to use them ourselves.
Swift is a free app available on iPads, which allow the children to code a 'bit' to collect gems. Sphero Edu is a free app which allows the children to programme a robot by linking it to the iPad.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with the Apple team and learnt a lot about coding. Why don't you try downloading Swift at home and having a go?
