In Year 4, during Arts Week we focused on a theatre production called Starlight Express, which is a rock musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The production started in 1983 opening at the Royal Shakespeare in London. It is about a boy, who in his dream, is a racing train. We chose a song to sing from the production called 'Light at the End of the Tunnel'.
We used roller skates to make the train. In 1976, Lloyd webber approached the author Revend W. Awdry about adapting Awdry's Thomas and the Tank engine stories as an animated TV series.
In class we made 3D people as the characters. We painted the 3D characters using the colour they wear. We made a disco ball by making a globe from papier mache and then we stuck mirrored tiles all over it to make it shine.
You can check out our Art display of the musical at the end of June over at High Street in the lower hall!
