Year 2 - Kente Cloths in Sycamore Class

Today we continued our learning about the world we live in and visited Africa during our Art lesson.

We looked at images of Ghanaian Kente cloth which is a type of silk and cotton fabric woven together to make a patterned cloth.

We watched a video on how to weave pieces of paper to resemble the fabric used in Kente cloths. We then chose 2-4 different colours and began weaving.

The results were incredible!
