The school had a visit from another company called Book Bus. The aim of the visit was to encourage children to come as a class to a look at the books and select ones they would want their parents to buy for them. The children from Year 4 Ash class were very excited and were able to get parents to buy books. This is to also promoting reading of children both in school and at home.

Year 4 Maths workshop and Book Bus
Last week, Year 4 pupils participated in a workshop led by a company called Bright idea. This involved pupils trailing a maths game on iPads. Children were able to learn place value by playing a space centre game on the iPad. At the end, children gave their opinions about how effective the game was and what they enjoyed about it. The idea of this survive was to enable the develop identify areas of improvement to tailor the game to meet the needs of the children effectively.
