The Kingston Frost Dragon visits Year 3

For our non-fiction this half term, Year 3 are going to be learning about and text mapping an information text about a dragon called the Kingston Frost Dragon. For our hook, we read an extract from the text that explains what the Frost Dragon would look like.

Have you ever wondered what a Frost Dragon looks like? In fact, they are similar to the majority of dragons. Like most Dragons, they have huge wings, large jaws, a spiny back and a long tail. Typically, they are a sparkling white or silver colour. However, some have been spotted that are an icy blue.

Furthermore, their teeth are made of diamonds and look like icicles. The main feature of this dragon is the fact that it does not breathe flames. They breathe frost and snow.

A few dragons of this variety have the ability to breathe on any creature and freeze it to stone, particularly if they feel in danger. Additionally , they all have webbed feet that they use for swimming.

We then used this information to help us create our own Frost Dragons.
