On a rainy Friday morning, Mrs Seaton met with the Debating Team.
We first discussed what makes a good debate and what skills we need to practise to be great debaters. Then we discussed some important environmental topics which we would like to debate more thoroughly in future. We listen to five members who wanted to volunteer to be our school representative for the UK Children's Parliament Virtual Event in October, and held a democratic vote to decide who we would choose as our MP.
Well done to Laju who was shortlisted to represent our school and local area, to Amber and Lewis for being runners up and all other children who put themselves forward for the vote.
We hope our candidate is formally selected by the official organisers to represent us and look forward to working with him and the yr2 debaters to support him by helping prepare debates for the event.
