Y5 Hawthorn- Can I speak in role as a character?

Year 5 have been working on what makes effective dialogue and how to use it in their writing. They have been basing their learning around the core text of 'The Lion and the Unicorn' and their work on World War Two and espionage.  Here you can see Hawthorn class working in pairs to speak in character. They had to: Decide on a section from the text, Decide on their roles,  Think carefully about what that character would say  Think about how they would speak (thinking about tone of voice)  Would they use formal or informal language? Would there be any non-verbal communication.
