Year 6 History: Crime and Punishment

 

We have been learning about how crime and punishment has changed in Britain since the Romans ruled. To help us learn some facts, we played 'Quiz, quiz, trade'. This is where we had a fact related to crime and punishment in the Ancient Roman times and took turns to share it with a partner before swapping facts.  






Did you know that the written laws created in the Roman times (known as the twelve tables) form many of the laws we have today. In addition to this, the concept of being innocent until proven guilty originated from the Ancient Romans!
