Music in Year 6

Three Ideas!

Year 6 have started preparing for their music trip, later this term, to see the London Symphony Orchestra.

We have revised our rhythm and pitch reading to learn fragments of a piece of music.
Using these 3 ideas (Bass, middle and melody) we will play an ensemble piece.

Once we have learnt these ideas, we will start to alter them to compose our own music.

This link will take you to the LSO play website where you can hear one of the pieces of music that year 6 are going to be studying this term.

For the first part of this term we are using ideas from 'Orawa' by the Polish composer Wojciech Kilar.  The music has a repetative pattern and tells the story of a river.

Can you work out the note pitches that year 6 have been using?
