TfL Tunes!
Year 4 continued their work on TfL tunes today. In previous weeks they had used four different station names to generate rhythms. They then played the rhythms on the xylophones on set notes.
Today, Year 4 picked their own station names from the map.
They turned the names into rhythms - first by speaking them to a pulse, then by turning them into body percussion patterns.
Once this was steady, they then played their rhythms on the instruments - first on one note, then using different pitches to create short melodic cells.
Over the next few weeks, we will be learning to write our ideas down using traditional notation.
