Music - Station Rhythms

STATION RHYTHMS

Year 4 started this term's music lessons looking at a TfL map. Choosing station names, they created rhythm patterns - starting with London Bridge and Kings Cross. They then added in more complicated patterns like London City Airport and Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich.
After clapping the rhythms of the station names, they moved to Xylophones and played the rhythms in layers creating chord patterns.

Later this term they will be notating their own station rhythm patterns, and adding pitches to form short melodies.
