Lots of Mini Chefs!
Year 5 Maple Class thoroughly enjoyed making a delicious leek and potato soup during their Mini Chef lesson this week.
As part of our overarching topic "Friend or Foe?", Year 5 have been learning about World War 2. Within this, we have looked at rationing and the food that might have been eaten during the war, such as leek and potato soup! When preparing our soup, we thought about all we have learnt during our Mathematics lessons and used this knowledge to chop our potatoes into halves, quarters and eighths.
Below there are some images of the children preparing, cooking and selling their tasty soup! Everybody had lots of fun!
