This week, Year 3 have finished writing their poems based on chapter 1 of The Iron Man. They have included fantastic vocabulary in their poetry, including onomatopoeia, rhyme and lists of three. Today, we looked at performances by different well-known poets such as Michael Rosen, Benjamin Zephaniah and Joseph Coelho, and discussed what made an engaging poetry performance. Following this, we performed our poems one to one, then in front of the class. We paid close attention to our intonation, volume, clarity and body language.
