Linking to their Science last term, Year 1 are exploring how different materials affect an instruments sound. They are looking at how playing an instrument in different ways can create short sounds or long sounds.
This week they use rhythm sticks - tapping and rubbing them to compare short louder sounds, with longer quiet sounds. They read patterns from the board and began to create their own.
