Active Maths in Year 6 - Outdoor Learning

This week, we recapped our learning from Year 5 with a fun-filled Active Maths lesson!

Despite the cold, we had a great time comparing and ordering decimals outside. We also played a target game where children had to roll dice to create 5 different decimal numbers. The child whose number was closest to 20 won!

This lesson introduced the subsequent maths lessons where children were converting fractions to decimals using tenths, hundredths and thousandths. Children then moved on to using their knowledge of bus stop method to convert more complex fractions to decimals.
