Today, children from Year 4 took a special trip to Eltham
Palace. 24 children were selected for the trip as they have made a fantastic
start to their learning in Year 4 and consistently shown many of our school
values, such as co-operation, patience, resilience and perseverance.
The sun shone (for the most part!) as we explored the beautiful
grounds and home of local millionaires who, during the 1930s and 1940s, used to
have many exciting parties. The residents even had a pet lemur called Mah-Jong…pretty
exotic, right?
We enjoyed learning about the history of the palace,
especially the WW2 bunker that the residents used to take cover in during bomb
raids. It was fun to dress up as if we were living in the era ourselves.
