This term in RE, Year 1 have been learning about Islam. They have learnt about what Muslims believe, why the Quran is important to Muslims, Islamic stories and what takes place in a Mosque. We then visited the Local mosque: Greenwich Islamic Centre. On our way we spotted the moon minaret. When we got there, an Imam spoke about what Islam is and what takes place inside a mosque. We then got to explore the Quran in different languages, see prayer mats, patterns as well as shout our name under the minbar and hear it echo!
