Year 3 have been learning all about Shabbat during RE.
Shabbat is an exciting and important day that Jewish people look forward to all week. For Jewish people, Saturday is a special day, just like Sunday is special to Christians.
When Shabbat begins on Friday evening, everyone puts on their best clothes and gather for a special meal. Other family members or friends may join the family for this special occasion.
We also learnt about the items that would be included during a Shabbat celebration such as Shabbat and Havdalah candles, challah bread and a Kiddush cup for wine. We created our own Shabbat tables and labelled the different items we had drawn.
