As part of our introduction to the Ancient Maya topic, we learnt why the Ancient Maya were a significant group of people.
We started by looking at the Ancient Mayan communication system, which is incredibly sophisticated and complex.
We learnt about syllabograms and logograms and the difference between the two.
We then explored the different ways the word 'jaguar' could be written using a range of glyphs for each syllable. There are so many combinations so everyone's writing looks slightly different!
