Today, we started our new art project by exploring different ways of using paint.
To link with our Explorer topic, we have started to create our own Christopher Columbus inspired painting. You will get to see the finished piece at the end of the term!
We began today's lesson by exploring the term 'abstract' in relation to art. We looked at a range of art and grouped them into abstract and not abstract. This lead us to look at different colour palettes and the mood they can set. We decided that red, orange, black and other dark tones create a negative feeling but blue, white and greens create positive feelings.
From this, we chose our own palette by mixing a range of colours based on the mood we want our painting to create.
We then used a dragging technique to create a wave pattern to represent the ocean. This will form the background of our Art.
We can't wait for you to see the finished product!
